Allow kids to take a test to determine where they should be placed. It starts out way too easy and they are bored.
The memory matching game confused my daughter at first because the animals move spaces, not giving feedback as to why the game didn't seem to have what she remembered being in that position. Starting with a level that did not have them moving might help that too and the bugs are a little faster than she is even though she knows what to do. She likes to be "right" so she hesitates and "checks her work" before making a decision so a little easier at the beginning would help here too. But overall a test idea at first to get a better feel for things would be a great idea, or at least an explanation of "the rules" of each game would help to not frustrate her at first, especially now that she has figured out how to "skip the hard games" with the game chooser.
