I am so disappointed with this app. My son has had this app since he was an infant and we have watched him accomplished so many amazing tasks on this app. He would ask to play "Icky" daily. I have recommended this app to my students' parents because of the high quality educational games and because it was free. It was like no other app! The possibilities were endless and the way his progress was charted was appealing to my "teacher side" of being a Mom. Now you want me to pay almost $150 a year for my son to use this app for years to come!? Are you crazy or just prideful? Am I the only personal who thinks this is ridiculous? I don't care if i can track his progress online instead of inside the app itself and i don't need to be able to sync from device to device. Bring back ALL his games for free!! Offer educators the availability to sync and track online but please allow my child to enjoy Icky again like we always have. I have to explain why Icky doesn't really work anymore like he always has and he has already lost interest in your app. I'm sure other children and parents will feel the same. A monthly subscriptions is not a fair alternative. If we must pay then why can't a reasonable one time purchase be an option? Not all of your audience are educators they are parents who have enough expenses and have enjoyed Icky for free for a long time. If my child uses this app for 5 years thats $750! I wouldn't pay over $20 for this app just because we've always had it for free! An even better option for myself would be the option to pay for the other games one or two at a time for a low cost of a couple of dollars that way when my child is ready for an advanced game I can purchase them a few at a time and not have a monthly bill or worry about a ridiculous monthly subscription expiring.
We understand your concerns about pricing. It is a necessary step we have taken in order for us to continue building high quality educational apps for your kids.
With a monthly subscription, the child has access to the full Agnitus program, advancing through the curriculum at their own pace and skill level.
Please let us know what you would consider a fair monthly price? We would appreciate your feedback.

I think it boils down to the fact that on a daily basis, customers don't own anything anymore, we just subscribe or rent things, with the end result that people end up paying more than they feel they should.
Price perspective: 6.99 a month is $84 a year. Microsoft Office 365 Mobile is $99 a year.
Yet Microsoft still allows people to purchase the Office 2013 software for a one time higher fee.How about giving your customer base the choice of subscription or one time fee?

i just got the app not long ago. i was exited about it but i think it is bit expensive, although
i admit that Agnitus is a good app but it is no reason to over charge parent's for it..........your company wants to get super rich in short period of time. It reminds me of the show i watch called American Greed where you get all or nothing. If you want to make money, you need to be affordable. just saying....... -

You have a yearly cost also.

I was horrified about the price tag of $15 per month and now it is $7 and I have to say I am still not happy and I still won't be paying this much EVERY MONTH! A learning app as good as yours should be available to everyone and though you of course need to make money you really need to be smarter about your business model. It is just not right to exclude people who can not afford your beautiful product. Here s my suggestion. A normal app costs $1-$2 and you own it forever..... So for your wonderful and comprehensive product how about $2 per month! That's an app purchase every month from every customer, forever!!!!! I'm sure you get the point here. Shouldn't that be sufficiently more than we are paying for anything else? I'm sure you wouldn't get too many complaints at this price, while opening the app to almost everyone. From reading posts from around the Internet, the displeasure shown at your price hikes is very widespread and I'm pretty sure this is not good for your company no matter how good your app. My daughter has come to me so many times asking me to "please make it work" but my response has been to delete it from my daughters ipad altogether. Sad but true. This is my response to your insane price hike. I do not respond well to greed or being hijacked. This is what I feel like your company has done, we went from a full functioning app that my chiles loved and used to now being held to ransom... Not clever. I and many other parents look forward to hearing that you have reconsidered your position.

I absolutely understand that you have to make money to keep this app and your business well funded. You have a great product. A large customer base of switched on parents actively seeking fun education for their children. However your decision to make new and future content only available via months subscription (current $84/year) is just too much. There's no guaranty of what I'm going to get. What am I buying? How many apps? Will they grow with my child? Up to what age will they be suitable for? Too many unknowns! Better to purchase each app as and when needed. When parents have funds available or because the child did well at school as a reward. Your customers are complaining. They are smart parents who want the best for their children.. ....they are NOT golden geese!

I was wondering the same thing about the monthly fee. I already paid money out for the extra games on there for my son and am un-willing to pay a monthly fee. If the games that I paid for stop working I will be looking for my money back. Thank you.

Some of us parents that work & their little ones go to daycare cannot afford another expense, especially with the fees that are charged for before & aftercare....then try balancing all the other household monthly expenses! So to us, besides our pocket books & wallets, it's just very let down by this company as a whole that would be such Indian-givers as something that works for our kids at a no price cost & now insult us parents by asking to pay....well something that Netflixs can teach our kids for 1/2 of the cost or just getting Internet for the same price as you're asking!! Shame on you Agnitus!! My son just made 2 years old last Thursday & really love this app but now I'm force to retract my business from your company, thanks for the false promises of a good product!!

I am a college student and a mother, and this has help me with my child's learning process, but this update there is no way I can keep using the app, there is no way I can come close to affording it. My child keeps asking me why it doesn't work, and where are all her other games. It was a great app and I thank you guys for the help, but this new update really disappointed me.

I would also be willing to pay around $5 a month or a price for each game.

I think it should be $5 a month or just leave it the way it was with in-app purchases. I'm wondering how many people you have that are willing to pay $15.00 a month? I would have to speculate you have probably lost a lot of people?...I can't imagine a whole lot of people have signed up?

How about drop the monthly price and bring back the in-app purchases.
Try to think of it from your target consumer side and not the wallet side: If I use this app for a year and pay for the subscription, i'll be paying $180 for a year. For a tablet application. That's supposed to be logical? I understand that devs need to get paid, but this jump is not the way. The in-app purchases already totaled $30 previously. Which for an app with a few games on a tablet is pretty hard to swallow, especially when compared to most other applications which are 99 cents to $5. This isn't a console game guys, and even those you just pay for once.If it is financially crucial that you need this revenue out of your tablet game, you should probably re-evaluate your business model and probably budget.

UPDATE
I just talked to the founder of the company. He was extremely helpful. He assures me that all the apps I purchased are still there and that the change was for NEW ones only! He assures me that they are working hard to set up an arrangement with schools. I will update this to let anyone who is interested how my support issue is resolved! So far...A+ for promptness, sincere concern, knowledgeability and patience!!! -

I paid for each of the individual games and now they are gone!!! I thought that was a fair agreement and now you have kept my money and removed the programs with no notice and after I only used them for a short time!! I feel as if I have been robbed!!! Now all of my data is gone as well!! This is VERY FRUSTRATING!!!

I agree.... My oldest has used this since she was an infant and is now starting preschool so want to keep using it,
My youngest has just started to use it...
But hello the price tag is ridiculous.. You would get more users leaving it the way it was instead of being greedy -

This is rediculous.....my kids loved this app and were so upset that their favourite part is now locked. When I went to see the price I thought I was missing something. Nope. They actually think parents will spend this kind of money for this. Obviously they don't know their audience. I will stop referring this app to my student's families and friends. Very disappointing.

I totally agree with everyone here. This price tag is just not possibly for us. My kids also really like this app. We are more outdoor people in the summer and I was looking forward to this app as the summer slows down and we spend a bit more time indoors. Unfortunately, I'm sure they will also lose interest. I didn't mind at all purchasing an add on when they were ready for it for a couple bucks. Totally disappointed. Greed gets you no where.

This app gave me the peace of mind that my daughter was learning while I needed the time to do my homework. I'm a chemistry major and microbiology minor. I've got more homework to do than I care to know exists. I'm also a single working mom with an income of less than $800/month. This is one big kick in the butt for me since the almost $30 I paid into the separate games JUST THIS YEAR are now not available until I pay ANOTHER $15/month to access them. I know Agnitus invests their time, money and resources into putting this out. They have a right to earn back the investment on their services. But not like this. There's another app/online service which is comparable, albeit not as beautiful, which offered me $20 for 6 months of use. I'm about to take that offer up and get rid of Agnitus if things don't get sorted.
